I have a question regarding what games are considered commercial. I want to make a free game without a budget while getting donations on _my own_ Patreon or Boosty (not exactly aimed at the game). Is the game considered commercial in that case? And do I need to pay for the Indie License in the future?

From our FAQ at [www.fmod.com/licensing](http://www.fmod.com/licensing)

> **How do you define commercial use?**
>
> Commercial use involves any form of monetization through direct sale, donation or promotion of a product using FMOD, and also ‘internal use’ where FMOD is used in a commercial setting by a business or organization.

If you take donations personally, I assume they benefit any title you are working on, technically we consider this a commercial benefit from the title. It has to be absolutely free with no money or related revenue involved in the development process.
