# About FMOD Engine for Windows

1. Before I install a newer version, do I need to remove the previous version?
2. Do I need to reboot after the installation?

So far, I’ve been overwriting existing versions and never rebooted and had no problem at all.  
But I’m asking these just in case.

No, you don’t need to remove the older versions and a restart is not necessary.
