# Fmod lipsync question fmod volume affect spectrum extracting

The perceived rolloff of sound is approximately logarithmic, -80 is a common minimum. The formula for converting from linear to dB is `20*log10(linear)`, to convert it back would therefore be `10^(dB/20-1)`
