# FMOD Studio saving window position

Is there a way to get FMOD Studio to save the window size and position? If not, this feature would be very useful. I’m running 1.10.5 on a Mac.

Hello Ron,
This would definitely be a useful feature to have. We’ve added this feature to our tracker for a future release.
In the meantime, you might be able to work around this by using a third party window size saving software such as Optimal Layout.

This would save a lot of time, especially if window position saves.

Not saving the window size and position is my number one frustration every time I open FMOD. I hope this will come soon.

I’ve scheduled a task for our next version to investigate implementing this. It shouldn’t be too hard to remember which windows, their positions and sizes and restore them when loading a project. I’d expect the state to be per-user, per-project.

Yeah this is a big frustration. Ability to save window layouts would be ideal, but I’d settle for the app remembering the window sizes and positions upon reopening. Perhaps this is fixed in a more recent version of the app? I’m using 2.02.07…

This feature was added in 2.02.12.
Preferences → Interface → Window Management:
“Remember window positions”.
