# Game maker fmod extention doesnt play the fmod events

[GitHub - YoYoGames/GMEXT-FMOD: Repository for GameMaker's FMOD Extension](https://github.com/YoYoGames/GMEXT-FMOD) this is the extension btw, and the error that pops up looks like this: [ERROR] fmod\_studio\_event\_description\_create\_instance :: Invalid fmod type, type not compatible with extension call.  
[ERROR] fmod\_studio\_event\_instance\_start :: Invalid fmod type, type not compatible with extension call.

here is the music object and the event is in step, can someone help?

Hi,

Unfortunately, this is not an FMOD error. It may be returned from the extension. Looking at the GameMaker forums, they suggest creating a ticket on the GitHub repository: [OFFICIAL - Open Sourcing Extensions | Page 3 | GameMaker Community](https://forum.gamemaker.io/index.php?threads/open-sourcing-extensions.98439/post-669776).

Apologies I cannot assist further.
