Is it possible to have a separate negative velocity on a parameter that is automated by another parameter?

Not usefully. It technically _is_ possible to assign both velocity and automation to a parameter, but the automation will then override any change made by velocity, with the net outcome that that parameter’s velocity won’t do anything.

Is there a way to automate a parameter and have it behave in the same way as if it had negative velocity?

No. As of the time of writing (January of 2021), the only way to get the behavior you want is to set the parameter’s value from your game’s code, rather than by using automation.

The usefulness of assigning velocity to an automated parameter is self-evident, so I’ve added this feature to our feature/improvement tracker.
