Hi all, complete newbie here. I am able to get a live playback of my voice via fmod. I have been using [this script](https://fmod.com/docs/2.02/unity/examples-record.html) but no matter what I can not get effects such as reverb or pitch shifting to work. So far my main attempt has been to try to put the effects on the master bus

Hi,

The script you linked uses the Core API plays back your voice by recording microphone input and playing it as a sound directly into the master channel group. This means that it bypasses any effects that you’ve set up in Studio in the mixer. You can check this yourself by using the [standalone Core API profiler](https://fmod.com/docs/2.02/api/glossary.html#core-api-profiler-tool) included with the FMOD engine installer, which displays the mixer’s DSP graph.

If you want to play the sound into a specific mixer group, instead of getting the master channel group, you can do the following:

1. Use [`Studio::System::getBus`](https://fmod.com/docs/2.02/api/studio-api-system.html#studio_system_getbus) to get the bus of your choice
2. Use [`Studio::Bus::lockChannelGroup`](https://fmod.com/docs/2.02/api/studio-api-bus.html#studio_bus_lockchannelgroup) to lock the bus’ underlying channel group and ensure it’s active
3. Use [`Studio::Bus::getChannelGroup`](https://fmod.com/docs/2.02/api/studio-api-bus.html#studio_bus_getchannelgroup) to get the underlying channel group
4. Play your sound into the bus’ channel group instead
