So I have some game music that works fine when I’m playing it with the event open

but when it is nested inside of an event, any track that has quantised delay applies every time the loop restarts.

I’ve looked at this post explaining about tempo markers and alignment. I’ve checked over these things and I don’t think that’s the reason.

My main confusion is why it does this within a nested event but not when I have the event open

I’ve compared the parameters and settings for each project, and they appear to my eyes to all match, so I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong with the project that’s not working. In each project, I have several stem layers in my music tracks, and each stem is triggered by the player’s level progress or other in-game events. On the project that isn’t working corre…

I can’t be sure without seeing your events, but it sounds like event instrument in the parent event might be spawning a new instance of the referenced event every time it loops, instead of playing one instance of the referenced event continuously. If so, this is most likely happening because the event instrument is inside a loop region that’s untriggering and triggering it once each loop. Try stretching out the event instrument to be slightly longer than the loop region, and see if that helps.

If that doesn’t help (or if it makes no sense in context) then my guess about the structure of your event was incorrect. If so, please post some screenshots of the two events so that we can see how they’re structured.

the loop is inside the event, just over the single instrument stack.

The event shouldn’t be looping, just the contents. though i might try that logic with the instruments within the loops

I tried to upload a picture but it didn’t work.

Can you describe exactly what happened when you tried to upload a screenshot?

Without knowing more about the structure of your events, it’s impossible for us to know why they are behaving the way they are.

dragged the image in then it said this:
“Sorry, there was an error uploading Screenshot 2026-03-04 104423.png. Please try again.”

I tried making the tracks longer than the loops regions and this didn’t help. I have the same issue.

Did you try again?

If you’re unable to upload screenshots to this forum, perhaps you could upload an FMOD Studio project that exhibits the issue to the [uploads section of your profile page](https://www.fmod.com/profile#uploads)?
