# Total Instance is not being affected by Max Instances setting

Despite of setting the Max Instance to 1 in the event, the profiler shows 42 Total instance.

Am I doing something wrong?

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to replicate the issue. Could you please provide more info about the event in question? Preferably:

- A screenshot of the event’s timeline (and/or relevant parameter sheet) and master track settings (i.e. Max Instances, Stealing mode)
- How the event is being triggered
- Whether the event has any nested events
