# Unable to save project in 2.00

When I select save as… and choose the same (default) location of the fmod project that I am working on I get the following message.
Error Saving Project
Studio was unable to save to “(path of my project)” as there is already a project at that location.
Please remove the existing project and try again.
If I rename it to something new, I can save it once and then I run into the same error on any additional save attempts. How can I fix this?

“Save as…” will save a new copy of the project. You’re trying to overwrite the current project with a different copy of itself.
Instead you need to use “File” \> “Save”, or use the Ctrl+S keyboard shortcut.

Good to know this isn’t a glitch then. I haven’t seen software take this approach to a “save as” button before.
