# Zurcast (Shoutcast/Icecast) Streams Remain Muted/dont start in Firestorm Viewer (Despite Working in External Players)

A radio stream hosted via Azurcast remains completely silent on parcel land audio within the Firestorm Viewer (Second Life). However, the exact same stream URL works instantly, flawlessly, and without interruption in external media players like VLC and via direct browser links.

**Technical Environment:**

- **Server / Frontend:** Azurcast (Latest Version)

- **Streaming Services:**

- **Client / Viewer:** Firestorm Viewer (Latest Version) using the integrated FMOD audio engine

- **Server Domain:** Secured via Reverse Proxy / SSL (`fm.darkfurry.de`)

**Steps & Diagnostic Tests Performed:**

1. **Direct HTTPS Links (`/listen/.../radio.mp3`):** Consistently throw `A HTTP error occurred` or `getOpenState Error` in the Firestorm developer log.

2. **Direct Shoutcast Port (Port 3000):** Results in `Couldn't connect to the specified host` inside the viewer. [https://fm.darkfurry.de/listen/darkfurry\_radio/radio.mp3](https://fm.darkfurry.de/listen/darkfurry_radio/radio.mp3) [[Shoutcast Link]]

3. **Switch to Icecast (Port 30010):** Tested the unencrypted URL format

4. **VLC Test:** The exact Icecast URL  
[[Icecast link]] starts immediately and plays smoothly in the VLC Media Player.

5. **Viewer Cache:** Cleared Firestorm’s media cache multiple times and reset audio output devices within the viewer.
