Downloadable Manuals

Are there any?

I’d like to feed them into NotebookLM for quick answers for problems I don’t know the name of.

Cheers!

Look in the documentation folder of your FMOD Studio install.

I don’t see a documentation folder. I’m using 2.02.24, it’s just the app, no folders!

Oh, my apologies, you must be on macOS. Right-click on the FMOD Studio app, Show Package Contents, then navigate to Contents > Resources > documentation > FMOD Studio User Manual.

I am. I actually did that but couldn’t find it. Silly me, will try again when I’m back in the studio. Thanks!

I’m in Windows.

The documentation folder is a bunch of .HTML files and images - no PDFs anywhere in sight.

I see the content embedded in the HTMLs but that’s not really useful for my purposes - I need the info in a single PDF file. Please advise.

What am I missing? Windows 11. 2.03

Sorry, we don’t ship a pdf. What’s your use case where that’s not sufficient?

Tools that ingest the entirety of a user guide and help me learn the software at an accelerated rate (Searching the manual on the website isn’t as efficient) need a PDF or some other digestible format.

I do it all the time, just makes learning objectively faster and it would be very helpful for FMOD to provide such a resource.
If it isn’t on the menu, I’ll do it the old fashioned way.

I’ll add that this is exactly what the person who started this thread is asking for. Notebook LM can’t ingest HTML AFAIK.

Fair enough. We may consider it for a future release but, for now, you’ll have to do it the old fashioned way.

Seems like if two professional users are asking for a PDF, it might actually serve a lot more people than us.

I used an html page to pdf converter. But it does now look like Google’s Notebook LM supports web URLS.

So it does. Thanks for the info.

Following up on this thread!

I was looking into something like NotebookLM for augmented search too, but Google isn’t supported enough in regions like Mainland China. and the Tencent IMA (similar to NotebookLM) is not supporting URLs yet, so if we could have a PDF version that would be really helpful!

Also, I’m a bit new to this: What is a good/efficuent way to convert so many pages html documentations without abusing the website while maintaining all important info?

FYI, the FMOD Studio installer comes with a full copy of the FMOD Studio User Manual which gets installed locally on your hard disk. You could use that instead of hitting up the website.
