Can't drag-drop after attempting to select more than one item in the assets tab

FMOD Studio version 2.00.07
MacOS Catalina

Where is the best place to report bugs? I will make a post here, but would like to know the proper channel.

I have found that FMOD can get into a state in which one can’t drag-drop after attempting to select more than one item in the assets tab. Once the problem begins, no items can be dragged. The only work-around I have found so far is to re-start the application.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open any FMOD Studio project
  2. Add items to the ‘Assets’ tab, if needed
  3. Create a new event
  4. Create a multi-instrument
  5. Select the multi-instrument so that the ‘Playlist’ window is visible
  6. Change focus to the ‘Assets’ tab
  7. Attempt to select more than one item by selecting one item, then shift-clicking on another item
  8. Attempt to drag the selected items
  9. Observe that items can no longer be dragged anywhere in the application

This forum is the best place to report bugs! Thanks for the comprehensive report.

This bug was introduced in macOS version 10.14, fixed in macOS version 10.14.4, and then reintroduced in macOS version 10.15. It affects dragging and dropping in all Qt-based applications.

We implemented a fix for this issue in FMOD Studio version 2.00.08, but it only fixes the issue for FMOD Studio. If you are experiencing issues in other applications, you will have to wait for Apple to release an OS-level fix.

Waiting for Apple is my only joy in life.
