Missing files from keys.txt not all listed in build error dialogue box

2.02.13

When trying to build an audio table bank with missing files, the Build Error dialogue box (“Failed to encode bank due to missing files”) doesn’t list all the files that are missing from that table. This means you have to remove the ones listed in that dialogue box, try to build again, then remove the new ones that come up and so on. The console logs don’t seem to list any of the missing files - is there anything I can do to get a list of all files referenced in keys.txt that aren’t present in the folder?

I’m afraid I haven’t yet been able to reproduce this issue when I test here, so I suspect I must be doing something differently to you. Possibly it only occurs with certain configurations of files.

Are you able to upload a project that exhibits this issue to the uploads section of your profile page on this site?

Hi Joseph,

I’ve recreated a dummy project with the same keys.txt and dialogue event/audiotable setup - but with no files included - and uploaded it.

When I try and build the VO bank I get the error box complaining about 30 missing files, but as you’ll see the keys file references nearly 500 files.

Ah! I see what you mean. Only showing a limited list of keys is definitely a problem.

I’ve added this issue to our bug tracker, so it should be fixed in an upcoming release of FMOD Studio.

Brilliant thank you for looking into this.

If I could sneak a cheeky request in there as well to extend the functionality a little…. If we were able to export this list of missing files (sort of like a keys.txt audit I suppose) as a csv or similar then we could plug that straight back into our VO pipeline automation. Or perhaps it’s possible to do that already via scripting?

But of course! I’ll add your suggestion to our feature and improvement tracker now.
