I’d like to be able to dock/move windows/tabs. In general, I’d like flexibility in how I can customize the interface, perhaps for a specfic workflow, or even just in a way that seems to make sense for me. For instance, even though there’s a key command to bring up the Parameters Browser, it’d be nice to be able to dock it to the side somewhere.
You’ll be glad to know we’re already considering more options for customizing FMOD Studio’s window layouts by undocking and moving specific UI elements. I’ll add you to the list of people interested in this feature.
Screensets would be awesome e.g, mix +edit window side by side
We already partly support custom window layouts, but only on a per-project basis, i.e.: If you save and close a project with a particular combination and layout of open windows, loading the project will restore the same combination and layout of open windows. I’ll add you to the list of people who’ve requested this feature.
Related, I’d like docks to “remember” which modules were open the last time the project was open. It seems everything automatically resets to being collapsed.
Tested in 2.03.14 on macOS 26.5.2
I assume you mean the decks. If so, you’re correct: We don’t save which deck drawers are expanded and which are collapsed, so whenever you load your project they reset to their default states.
I’ll add your suggestion to our feature and improvement tracker.
For now, the “Interface” tab of the preferences dialog contains a set of “visibility” properties. These properties allow you to set whether various types of deck drawers are expanded or collapsed by default.
Yes, I’m referring to the panels and their associated drawers within the deck. Thanks for the correction!
