"Invalid Delays" error in UE 5.6

Hi,

We’re using the FMOD plugin into Unreal 5.6 and as we are playing one same event and updating its parameters there’s a case where we’ve got errors I’ve never seen. Here are a few of them :

LogFMOD: Warning: C:\buildagent2\work\c1c3f17eb167c494\studio_api\src\fmod_playback_instrument.cpp(1330) - Loading delay exceeded. Instrument {e794e194-ad05-4776-9045-22dd97299f9e} started 23.22ms later than expected, sound may play at incorrect time. SCHEDULE_DELAY: 185.76ms.

etc … etc …

What would be the cause of this ?

Many thanks in advance,

These warnings are telling you that the there was a delay between you calling Start on an Event Instance and the audio actually starting, due to the audio assets taking time to load.

This can happen if you do not load the sample data ahead of time, see sample data loading.
