I’m trying to use steamaudio as a spacializer for use in unity for a university final year project. My audio tracks are events on FMOD, which i’m trying to spacialize with the steamaudio plugin, which I can then import into unity to create a realistic reactive space. The issue I keep coming across is with different integrations and architectures which don’t seem to be compatible. whenever I add the steamaudio spacializer effect onto one of my tracks, the master bus won’t meter and unity spams me with errors when i try and press play. I’ve tried to load the intel version of steamaudio and open FMOD with rosetta but nothing i try ends up working. I’ve tried to keep it all on apple silicon but still I run into errors and the master not metering/ FMOD crashing when i try to add the steam audio effects. Some help would really be appreciated, this snag has been holding me back for days and its getting to crunch time now! I still cant even tell if im using the right libraries from the steam audio download, ive tried endless forums, ai helptools and more and im completely at a loss now. I’m on a macbook air (2020) M1 chip, using Unity 6 (have installed both a silicon and intel version of the editor), FMOD 2.03.13 and steam audio 4.8.1.
Hi,
Thank you for sharing the information.
Could you please clarify whether the metering issue is happening inside FMOD Studio itself, or only in Unity at runtime?
For example:
- does the Master Bus meter stop moving directly inside FMOD Studio after adding the Steam Audio spatializer?
- or does FMOD Studio meter correctly, but no sound reaches Unity?
Could you also share the exact Unity console errors you are seeing when entering Play Mode?
