I often export audio files with a natural reverb tail (and sometimes with a bit of preroll, as samples with slow attacks may need to start before the barline), so thus far I most often use transition timelines with no crossfades. Can we get a hotkey that you can press while dragging source/destination material into the transition timeline that will force a fade, or force no fade? The default behavior seems to be to create a crossfade as soon as the transition timeline detects overlapping regions. In this case, I take an extra step and remove the fades. It’s not a big deal, but it would be nice if I could make the transition material the way I want during the first action.
I can see how a keyboard shortcut for overriding the auto crossfade behavior would be useful, both for transition timelines’ source and destination regions and for instruments in general. I’ll add your suggestion to our feature and improvement tracker.

I would love this as well. It can be quite tedious and annoying when fades appear on two overlapping items that you move slightly, especially if you’ve already removed the fades on them when they first overlapped. Cheers!
There is a very similar behavior when you have multiple overlapping Instruments on the same Track in a Timeline sheet. I’d like to have more control over these crossfades, as well. And like @bsanderson’s comment, fades that you’ve previously removed come back when you resize or relocate instruments, even if you Resize to Content’s Length from the context click menu and the Instrument length doesn’t change. These fades are easier to multi-edit, though.

That’s because the same code is used to generate the crossfade curves in both cases.
There’s no need for a new thread. We consider it all to be one feature request, because any keyboard shortcut we implement as a solution will affect every possible combination of overlapping instruments, transition timeline source regions, or transition timeline destination regions. (We figure it’ll be more intuitive if it’s consistent.)
