I am going to start composing for a team developing an Unreal Engine game. My plan is to use FMOD Studio for my adaptive music and SFX. But I don’t know Unreal Engine very well. Will I be able to work in FMOD Studio and send the test/original build files to the team from time to time? In other words, do I need to have Unreal installed on my computer? If not, what kind of folder structure do I need to create for my workflow? Can I work separately from the team?
You don’t need to have Unreal Engine installed unless you plan to work directly in it.
You will just need to supply the developers with all of the built banks from FMOD Studio.
