Android crashing in FMOD::OutputOpenSL::updateOutputCallback

We are running Unity without any additional fmod tools (so no fmodstudio). We have been getting a crash in Cloud Diagnostics where we are getting an issue “FMOD::OutputOpenSL::updateOutputCallback” (for Android Phones). We were having this issue in 2019.3.5f1, we decided to upgrade to 2020.3.25f1 hoping to solve some issues including this one. However, we are still having that issue.

We have found some other users having the same issue as well (https://forum.unity.com/threads/native-crash-detected-all-huawei-devices.1099522/) , however no solution was mentioned.

We switched to uncompressed sound assets hoping to address this, but the issue persisted.

We tried contacting Unity, but haven’t been able to solve this still.

We are running the editor on Mac (earlier on intel ones, now M1 ones). The clients that have the issue are running Android.

Please let me know if any other info is required.

Hi,

Unfortunately, this is an error from Unity. They are using the old FMOD Core API and have not changed the class names.

I’m sorry we can’t assist any further
