Beginner: Can I use FMOD for only a few audio events and not as my master audio manager?


I’m a bit new to all this, so might be a dumb question, but I was wondering if I have to run all my sounds in FMOD if I really only want to use it for one thing?

i.e: I want to use FMOD for creating a moving vehicle sound event (start, idle, drive, stop, off), but I want to use Unity’s audio features to control all of the audio events, programming, mixing, etc…

I guess what I’m asking is, do I need to have every sound I make for my project run through FMOD even if I just want to use FMOD for one thing?

The FMOD Studio system and the inbuilt Unity system can exists side-by-side on most platforms.
