Can Unity + FMOD project share same assets folder?

Is it ok for my FMOD project to use the same Assets folder as Unity so the sound files can stay in the same place and existing ones can easily be imported or should it be seperate (folders in fmod project older might conflict with folders in unity project folder?) ?
