For some reason I can’t set certain Fmod events as variables in UE5. ‘Older’ events (ones I made months or weeks ago) are settable, but newer events (created / renamed in the last couple days) won’t set. This happens even with a new totally default blank event.
What I mean by won’t set is that if I create a FMODEvent variable in a BP, I cannot set it’s value in the details panel. When I select the desired event, it just reverts back to none. However, I CAN set it with a Set node for the variable.
Resolved, but I’m not sure why. Either fixing redirectors in UE and/or closing and reopening the project.
Happy to hear! Usually an issue like this, where older events are present but newer ones aren’t, is the result of banks not being up to date, or UE not detecting and refreshing its event cache based on the updated banks. That said, please let us know if you run into the issue in the future.
Thanks, yeah updating banks (automatically or forced throug the file menu) didn’t resolve the issue for me, but it also hasn’t come back since.
