Doppler

Hello teachers. I tried using the sandbox tool of FMOD to test the Doppler effect, but it didn’t take effect. May I ask if this effect can only be achieved in the game? I made a loop of racing engine sound and activated the Doppler effect switch, then placed the event near the listening area and quickly dragged it to simulate the car passing through the listener quickly, but there was no effect.

Unfortunately, in my experience, the sandbox doesn’t audition the doppler at all. It needs to be tested in-game.

Hi,

The Sandbox tool isn’t well-suited for testing the Doppler effect, as it can’t accurately simulate precise movements and velocities. For effective testing of the Doppler effect, using a game engine is preferable, just as DrewKski0 suggested.
