Request: An optional mini mixer panel with common adjustments inside the Event Editor, like some other DAWs.
Reason: It is difficult to switch between the Event Editor and the Mixer window if you need to play some events, adjust the mixer volumes, or experiment with the reverb properties on the fly.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Just to make sure we understand what you want this feature to do, how do you imagine this would differ from having multiple windows open, such that the event editor and mixer windows are both open and on-screen at the same time? What specific commonly-used mixer features would you like to see in this mini mixer panel, and what features would you want to be omitted? What specific DAWs are you drawing inspiration from?
The difficulty is that the transport buttons are missing inside the Mixer window. Switching between workspaces to check events, group levels, and snapshots can be distracting to the workflow. I’m trying to use the sandbox to do that, but it’s an extra step and time-consuming to set up a test scene.
Perhaps my request isn’t the best idea due to the limitations of the workspace. But since you asked, I will answer.
Commonly-used mixer features I would like to see in this mini mixer panel:
- Mixer volumes (knob/slider style because of the workspace limits)
- Mixer Deck (Optional)
- Event Browser Panel (Optional)
- Routing & VCA Channels
- Snapshots Panel (Overview Only)
- Mini Intensity Panel
My inspiration comes from Logic Pro and Studio One.
Thanks for the clarification. I’ll add that information for our feature and improvement tracker.
For now, I can only recommend having multiple windows open, making them less than full-screen in size, and putting them next to each other so that you don’t need to switch between them when working.
