Hey community & team FMOD,
Since I’m working on a hero collector, I have quite a lot of sound banks. Therefore, instead of just building the banks for the heroes I’ve worked on, I usually do a build all platforms.
The idea being to then do a revert unchanged in Perforce before submitting.
However, Perforce seems to detect some changes in sound banks which I definitively haven’t modified and therefore doesn’t revert them when I use revert unchanged.
Reverting the files using the normal revert function is not a problem for me, but I’d like to confirm that, when I use build all platforms, sound banks in which I didn’t change assets or any metadata really aren’t changed.
Is this correct?
I’m pretty sure you are correct. When I build all platforms, perforce doesn’t detect any changes to banks that I haven’t touched, so I’ll have to “revert unchanged” those banks so I don’t keep those banks checked out indefinitely (I use perforce integration).
That being said, I don’t know why perforce would detect changes on a bank you definitely didn’t touch.
Hi,
What version of FMOD are you using?
I am also unable to reproduce the issue. Are you able to diff any of the banks in perforce and share the results?
I’m still on 2.02.26 (hopefully on 2.03 soon). This seems to have been a one-off, right now I’m getting the normal behaviour again (non-modified banks revert correctly when using revert unchanged).
I’ll mark this as resolved, if it happens again I’ll do the diff and send it!
