I find it difficult using transceivers as there are so many channels, but no way to see what each channel is doing – where it is used, what it is sent to/received by, etc. This user had a similar problem:
As a “simple” little thing to help, would it be possible to give names to each channel on a project-wide basis? For example, I might want to name channel 1 “Doorway portal”, channel 2 “radio”, etc. The names would come up in place of (or as well as) the channel number under the dial.
That sounds like a great idea! Naming transceiver channels is not something we currently support, but I can definitely see how it would be useful. I’ll add it to our feature and improvement tracker so that we can implement it in future.
In the mean time, I’m afraid I can only suggest keeping note of which transceiver tracks you’ve already used, and using sends, return tracks, and return buses in place of transceiver effects wherever possible.
Smashing. I think the ideal solution would be to have some kind of matrix or view, detailing which events and groups are using which transceivers/receivers, but I can imagine that would be a big task. Adding a name in lieu of number to the channels on a project-wide basis would certainly make it easier to assign things and know what should be used for what purpose though.
