Pitch Modulation Glitch/Inconsistency

Hi!

I found that on seemingly random occasions, both in FMOD Studio itself and ingame, when AHDSR-modulating the pitch of an event on the master, it will not use the release curve but jump down to the Final target pitch instantly.

Here’s a video where this is happening at the first and last time when I’m stopping the event: https://youtu.be/qfJ-W_0UK58

I’m also noticing a small jump of the yellow dot on the pitch field right when it transitions from the Attack part to the Hold part. I don’t think it’s related, but it looks like the UI is misrepresenting the modulation a tiny bit there, since the curve I’m using is all smooth.

I think this topic was addressed in a different thread already, but I couldn’t find it. Is a fix for this planned in a future update?

I’m afraid I haven’t yet been able to reproduce either of these issues; when I test here, the release period of an AHDSR modulator on event pitch always seems to play out correctly, and I am not able to detect any sudden shift in the orange dot position when entering the hold state. This makes me suspect I must be missing some crucial step of the reproduction process.

Would you be able to upload a copy of your project to the uploads tab of your profile page on this website, so that we can examine what’s happening in more depth? It might hep us identify the cause, or at least work out how to reliably reproduce the issue.

Hi again!

Thanks for trying to reproduce. I’ve stripped down the project to only that problematic event and I can still get it, sometimes after 2 tries, sometimes I need 30 seconds till it happens just once. The visual bug regarding the yellow dot jump is also still there.

Concerning the upload, the website seems to prompt me to input my address before I can upload a project. Since I’m generally reluctant to spread my info everywhere, I just uploaded it to my drive. Hope that’s okay!

Let me know if you can reproduce the bug(s) using my project: Proton Drive

Hi,

Thank you for sharing the repro project.

I was able to reproduce the issue using the project you provided, and I’ve passed it on to the dev team for further investigation.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
