We’ve been receiving reports from Apple that a high percentage of all hangs occur during an FMOD function. Unfortunately we get very little info and no context for these reports, so we don’t know when it happens and we are still working on reproducing the issue on a test device.
This call stack doesn’t make any sense to me — these crashes are happening on proper releases in the wild, not development builds, and I thought the CommandReplay functions were for LiveUpdate capture and would only be enabled in a development build, as per our platform settings.
The only thing I think I can divine from this is that it seems like it might be happening during start-up, since this stack includes the initialisation of the runtime manager and listener, etc. That might explain why we have no bug reports from users or negative store reviews that mention this crash — if it simply fails to start sometimes and needs to be opened again, a user might not think that worth reporting.
We’re using Unity 6000.0.66f2 and FMOD 2.02.28
I’d be grateful for any insights! I’ll try to get a profiler session recorded as soon as we can repro the hang reliably.
