Sorry if I get something wrong, this is my first time posting here.
Hello! I am new to FMOD and I have a final project coming up for my sound design class but have run into a bit of a snag. In FMOD I have created a labelled parameter for what area the player is in and created a parameter sheet based off of it to change between songs when in different levels. However, whenever the label switches, the songs just keep playing and overlapping(as shown in the screenshot). This happens both in FMOD and in Unity. I tried searching up all sorts of things but couldn’t figure out what was happening. Hopefully it is just some setting I need to turn on. Let me know if there is any more information is needed! Thank you for any help!
Click on each of your instruments to see its properties in the deck, then click the button labelled “Cut.”
The instruments in your screenshot, like all instruments on parameters other than the timeline, are “asynchronous instruments.” unlike synchronous instruments, asynchronous instruments are not limited to playing the section of their asset that’s overlapped by the parameter’s playback position, and so can potentially continue playing even when no longer overlapped by the parameter playback position. Enabling “Cut” mode for an instrument ensures that it cuts (i.e.: stops playing) when untriggered.
Note that this method of causing an instrument to stop playing when untriggered may sound abrupt. If you would prefer a more gradual fade-out when an instrument is untriggered, consider adding an AHDSR modulator to the instrument’s volume instead.
