I know storing the password in the user-preferences is optional, but I imagine many people will do it even when they don’t need to. I did, at first, and my IT team were not happy about it when we discovered the password was unencrypted.
I strongly suggest hashing the ‘p4password’ value in this file: Workspace.user.xml
That does sound like a good idea. I’ve added it to our feature/improvement tracker.
In the mean time, I should mention that if you have an open Perforce/Helix connection to your repository, FMOD Studio will automatically attempt to use that connection, so it’s not actually necessary to put your password into FMOD Studio to use our integration.
