After a new setup in Unreal Engine, we get the expected “FMOD Settings Problem Detected” message, but when we open the project settings and press “Fix” it isn’t actually changing anything in the ini file. The message in the project settings changes to green saying “FMOD Settings are valid…” but next time we open the Unreal project the problem returns. Diffing the DefaultEngine.ini file against the previous revision after making the change it says the files are identical. This was occurring with FMOD 2.03.14 and Unreal 5.8.2 and we’re still experiencing this issue after we updated to FMOD 2.04.00 today.

Is the project part of any source control? What OS is this occurring on? Does this happen in a new UE project?
Thank you for the info
Hey Connor, we’re using Perforce, Windows OS, and it does not happen in a new 5.8.3 project. I don’t actually have 5.8.2 installed through Epic Launcher so I can’t easily create a new 5.8.2 project. But I think we may have narrowed down what’s happening, will keep you posted.
Hey Connor, just wanted to follow up and let you know that we got it fixed. It was an issue with something that had been removed from our .ini file, so not likely something that anyone else will run into.
Thank you for the update.
