Godot 4 and FMOD integration - Best practice?

I’m also very interested in an official Godot integration, a few of the repos I’ve found are no longer maintained, and I definitely don’t have the expertise to figure it out myself!

An official integration would be very very much appreciated!
Especially if such an official plugin allowed the use of C#. The community plugins currently only seem to support gdscript and my project are 99% in C#. Somehow mixing gdscript and C# in some unholy amalgamation is not something I want to do.

I think supporting Godot would both be great and a good idea since I know studios have been trying to get out of the Unity ecosystem. While a lot are going to Unreal, smaller one’s especially are taking up Godot more and more. At least this is the vibe I get from the community. FMOD is great and I’d love to see better integration with Godot!

This is exactly what I mean! A friend of mine was a previous Unity user, but he’s currently using Godot, and I was planning on using FMOD to help him in the sound department. Having this official integration would be amazing!

Sorry to hop on the bandwagon, but please add one to the count of people interested in an official integration :slight_smile:

I believe an official integration would be worth the effort, even if it was released at a much slower cadence, not always available for the most recent releases, or was made Open-Source. Since the original post, one of the two integrations (the one by Alessandro Fama, by far the better of the two) has been removed or made private, which seems related to his employment at Audiokinetic. Not having a reliable integration makes using FMOD + Godot a losing proposition.

Also interested in integration with Godot, I’m trying to avoid using Unity due to the ethical issues it’s facing so this would be a tremendous help.

Used FMOD on Unity but decided to switch to Godot for my current project, so I would love to see the official Godot integration coming much sooner if possible
